Kindness Is Necessary

"Kindness is good.  Kindness is wise.  Kindness is necessary."

(Happy Musings is a newspaper feature syndicated by King Features that I create each day to remind us all that “Life is wonderful!”  I offer it here to brighten your day.  Please share it with your friends.)

Hmt200610282 More kindness is more better!  Kindness has to be one of the big virtues.  There is a woman I know who exemplifies it.  She is kind from her head to her toes.  Her name is Nada and she is the tennis hostess at the club where I sometimes play tennis.

Now if you don’t know what a tennis hostess is, I’ll tell you.  It is the most important position at any tennis facility whether at a private club, a public rec center or a hotel with a tennis operation.  She or he must be the most diplomatic, efficient and gracious person on staff.  She or he, more than any other employee, represents that facility to its public.  It is rather like being a hostess at a restaurant, except that the tennis host or hostess must put people together in games and not offend anyone.   That person must do this juggling of courts and people of all levels of ability with the utmost kindness.  Nada is a pro.

Now if we could get our politicians to do the same.  The more people on our little planet, the more kindness is needed.

Please send me your thoughts on kindness.  Thanks.

Smiles,

Sally

Love Is All

"Love is all there is worth having or giving or being."

(Happy Musings is a newspaper feature syndicated by King Features that I create each day to remind us all that “Life is wonderful!”  I offer it here to brighten your day.  Please share it with your friends.)

Hmt200610272_2This is one of the first Musings I created.  It says it all to me.

Our identification is critical.  If we identify with our bodies or our minds or personalities, we are never satisfied.  I think identifying with our true nature, love, sets things right.

At one point in my life I focused exclusively on the heart, on love.  I meditated on it.  I wrote books about it, drew pictures with hearts and love themes.  I ate love, drank love and lived in an atmosphere of complete love.  It was amazing what happened.  People sent me flowers with loving notes and gave me gifts with hearts on them.  Chuck Barris even gave me a plant made of heart-shaped leaves.  I hung it in my little studio.

Please let me know if you have found anything better than love in your life?  I can’t imagine, but do let me know what you think.  Thanks.

Smiles,

Sally

Talking To A Friend

(Happy Musings is a newspaper feature syndicated by King Features that I create each day to remind us all that “Life is wonderful!” I offer it here to brighten your day. Please share it with your friends.)

Isn’t this the truth?! Sometimes the presence of a friend and a few words are all that you need to put you right again. There is steadiness in friendships. There is a continuous opportunity to share. Sometimes it can be by phone or e-mail, but the contact is what is important.

In this life that seems to be speeding up and filling up with activities, strangers and mechanical devices, a friend is more valued than ever.

I love my friends. As odd and assorted as they are, they are mine. Once loved, never unloved, I say.

Please let me know what you think of this Musing and what a friend means to you. Thanks.

Smiles,

Sally
